YouTube, the world’s largest online video platform, has recently announced testing some exciting new AI-powered features for creators and viewers. These features are designed to make it easier for creators to produce and share content, and for viewers to discover and enjoy videos. In this blog post, we will take a look at some of these features and how they can enhance the YouTube experience.

YouTube AI

One of the most intriguing features is Dream Screen, a new generative AI feature for YouTube Shorts. The Shorts are short-form videos that can be created and watched on the YouTube app. With Dream Screen, creators can add AI-generated video or image backgrounds to their Shorts simply by typing an idea into a prompt. For example, if you want to make a Short about traveling to Paris, you can type “Eiffel Tower” and Dream Screen will generate a realistic background of the iconic landmark. This way, you can create stunning and immersive Shorts without having to leave your home or use a green screen.

Another feature that uses generative AI is the comments summarizer, which will organize and summarize the topics of discussion in large comment sections underneath a video. This will help viewers catch up on what people have been saying about a video without having to scroll through hundreds or thousands of comments. It will also help creators learn what their channel’s subscribers are talking about and get inspiration for new videos based on comment topics.

It also introduced a new mobile app called YouTube Create, which provides creators with production tools to edit their videos. The app offers video editing tools such as precision editing and trimming, automatic captioning, voiceover capabilities, and access to a library of filters, effects, transitions, and royalty-free music with beat matching technology. YouTube Create is designed to empower creators to get started with a suite of production tools to edit their Shorts, longer videos, or both. The app is currently in beta on Android in select markets.

Another feature that will help creators with their video production is the music search, which will allow creators to find the perfect soundtrack for their videos. Music search will use AI to analyze the video’s content, mood, and genre, and suggest relevant music tracks from YouTube’s library of royalty-free music. Creators can also filter the music tracks by genre, mood, instrument, and duration, and preview how they sound with their video.

Finally, it also announced a new feature that will help creators reach a global audience: automatic dubbing. Automatic dubbing will use AI to translate the audio of a video into different languages and generate realistic voiceovers. This will enable creators to share their videos with viewers who speak different languages without having to record separate audio tracks or hire professional voice actors. Automatic dubbing will also provide captions and subtitles for the translated audio, making the videos more accessible and engaging.

These are some of the new AI-powered features that YouTube may test for creators and viewers. YouTube is also a platform where many AI researchers and developers share their work and ideas with the public, such as OpenAI, a research organization that aims to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. YouTube is constantly innovating and experimenting with new ways to use AI to enhance the YouTube experience for everyone. We are excited to see what YouTube and its creators will come up with next.
